Mr P remembers....
The Ambassador Picture Theatre was where the child care centre is now in St John's Wood. In the 1950's the picture show would open on Friday and Saturday nights only and had only canvas seats. Next door was a grocery shop and then there were four tennis courts, next to that the Cub and Scout hut. The tennis courts now have houses built on them. If we walked to school, we would climb down the quarry on the way home but we would get into trouble from our parents because they could see us from Piddington Street. Thinking back now it was a very dangerour climb.

In July 1950 the Free Milk Scheme was introduced in Queensland.
