Queensland's 150th Celebrations in 2009 commemorated Queensland's independence from New South Wales as a colony. The anniversary gives all of us the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on what it means to be a Queenslander.
The vision for the celebrations, reflected on our past, imagined our future, drove the program around four broad themes of history, people, places and future. The celebratory program incorporated both existing events and new initiatives to generate interest and engage Queenslanders across the State.
The oz-Teachernet, with support from the Queensland government, invited all Queensland schools to take part by documenting the way the past 150 years have unfolded in your district.

Q150: A Children's Gallery was open to registered schools from June 6, 2008 to June 5, 2009. From June 6, 2009, the site has been open to the world - so that anyone may search the history created by Queensland school students and add their recollections and comments about the events they have represented. This is now open at http://www.otn.edu.au/projects/q150. Please visit and see how Queensland students celebrated the history of their regions.
